I was told it was (RED TEXAS) i doubt the hybrid ones because they are red!
But he has no red the only red is the tip of the dorsal fins but u can barely tell hes about 3 1/2 inches. But hes my most aggressive one of all.

Unfortunately i got him at pet land discount. That alone says alot. When i got him they said hes a red texas cichlid because of the red tips on the dorsal fin. Which i found weird because JD have that red tip dorsal fin as well. So im guessing they didnt kno what they were giving me but idk i dont think its a texas or at least its mixed he is by far the most aggressive of them all even more the my green terror and 6 inch JD

Not a kamfa. This is indeed a red texas, but it probably came from segrest or sunpet. Of course none of the fish they sell as avg quality RTs will fade. They get them from breeders who grade the quality and give them the lowest, as they sell bulk they don't care. It is indeed a red texas. But it isnt a very nice one : (

The truth is that at least 90% of red texas look like this or similar. The red ones represent the 1-10% that fully fade, and this is why they are expensive. a red texas breeder raises hundreds of fish and gets a few (less than ten) red texas that look like the ones you are thinking of.

I am breeding RT so I can show you pics of the genotype if you are interested

+1 It is a red texas even though it will not fade or turn red as some you will see with research. These fish should should be called a "texrots" just like all store bought rd's and midas's are called "midevils." The term red texas when the fish aint even red is so misleading...

Since you are breeding RT You should know that its a mix between kamfa and texas. I don't know why you guys are breeding texas with red devils and parrots. A true red texas should be sterile jst like when bps are made.

really what are you basing this on?
There are red texas kamfas out there but they are not worth as much as an RT and for good reason, they are kind of like counterfit RTs
