I just picked up this carpintis but I'm trying to find out what type it is. It looks like an escondido, but I'm not sure. Anyone know? Also, what's the sex?It has blue and green pearls. Thanks!!

Andrew

looks like a escondido but the truth is you will never be 100% sure by just looking at it. you need to know the source to know the collection point. looks like it has a black dorsal. if it does then its a female. i really big one at that.

Going by the worm like pattern o the face I say ............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................" Escondido".

Id also say Escondido, although ........female chairels have the same squiggles on their faces like escondido's do, male chairels have blotches, and lahillas have spots. :)

I have to agree with everyone else here. That fish is sweet looking! He looks tough! I mean tough as in strong, not beat up.. LOL

Id guess male with the figure it has but venting is the true way to go. If that is a female breed her with a sweet looking male!

hey thanks for all the info guys! im starting to believe its more of an escondido (cause thats what i want to believe..lol) i picked this guy up at store in my area, he was a trade in and beat up. wait till i clean him up, he's in good hands.

only thing is that people are telling that it's a "he" but some say it's a "she" because of the black marking on her dorsal fin. what you think?? here's more pics to take a look. please let me know. thanks again!
