      Hi everyone.
I need some help to identify what this could cichlid is.
The aquarium shop I purchased it from said it is a red Texas. But I am finding it harder to believe as time passes by. It is about a year old.

      Any help would be appreciated.

      Thanks.
      John

It looks like a hybrid. No way to tell you the exact genetics. Seems to have red devil in it, & It does not look like a "red texas" (also a hybrid), which are heavily based on h. carpintis.

definitely a hybrid. Looks similar to a gold severum but also like a middevil. It's definitely very interesting.

      Thanks for all your replies.
I suspect red devil hybrid too.
The structure of the face does have some resemblance to a Texas but the colour is very much a red devil trait....

I guess I will just have to wait and see what comes of it.

      Thanks.
