Please help me identify this fish

Hi, I need help identifying this fish. My friend told me it was a flowerhorn. It looks a lot different from the others that I have seen. I was wondering if this really is a flowerhorn or a hybrid? Any help identifying would be great and I also think this is a male. Can anybody confirm this for me?

A flowerhorn IS a hybrid fish. What you have I believe is a Fader. Definitely a flowerhorn. A very nice one too.

I'm still a newbie with flowerhorns and have never even heard of a fader till now lol. Thanks for the info, helps out alot.

I'm no expert but I just recently picked up a little "red devil" that turned out to be a fader. He looks a bit like yours but with less dark marking and without much of a kok (nuchal hump on the head) yet. Mine was the first fader I've ever seen in person.
