i bought this from a lfs. pretty expensive wood. sales person said it is japanese sun dried wood. i have no idea what that is and googling isnt working.

anyone have any idea?

each piece is about 3ft length

def not malaysian drift wood. i have some malaysian drift wood and the texture is different. this wood is much harder than malaysian drift wood.

Probably African Mopani. Mopani looks nice, but seems to be prone to fungal growth.
