Maculipinnis Piranha (Pristobrycon Maculipinnis), OR a normal red belly piranha, its either one of the two for sure, i lean on Mac, the tailfin isnt red like the maculipinnis or have red in it at all, but you have red bellies so obviously you would know the difference. thats just IMO;) so its 80 % Mac

I'd say normal red belly, pygo. nattereri .

here's a picture of pristobrycon maculipinnis you can clearly see the difference

I know nothing about piranha so I can't help you with what it is. But I wanted to tell you it's a good pick up. Very beautiful fish!

I'm going with P. nattereri. Better pics would be better, but that's definitely a pygo, and definitely not a caribe or piraya...IMO

aggression could vary from fish to fish, you might just have one aggressive one. maybe the belly will get red as it age. if you are not too certain with the ID then wait until it's larger and post more pictures for ID purpose.

I got this one from a fishstore. They told me it is "Dickkopf Piranha (in German)". It is small about 6 cm. And very fast and aggressive. Please if anyone recognizes this species, post it here. Thanks.

Dickkopf piranha!??? I think the jerks who sold you the P's where making some mucky on you man. Kopft means "head" in german, so now you know what is Dick kopft.....:wall::wall:

Regarding P's ID, I would go with RBP as well.

Don't buy more fish from those punks, they are making fun of you and the clients must not be the object of some jerk salesclerk jibe.

Cheers.
