Please help me on a lid

Ok so I have 55 gallon tank and I want to put a lid on it but my 55 has a support bracket down the middle and it looks like they only make hoods for it n I don't want that because I wanna use a led fluval light I was thinking plexiglass from Home Depot but idk if it is thick enough please help me

There's a ledge all around the rim of the tank where the hood would sit right? Well just get a piece of acrylic that same dimensions to fit onto that ledge.

Yeah that's what I was thinking but I was wondering if they was something else I can buy that's already cut and stuff but I think that would do

You might check out glass versa tops made for 20 gallons, 2 of them would probably work on your 55. That's what I have on mine, hated the plastic lids that came with it and replaced them.
