brackish is a mix between salt water and fresh. it basically has a lower salinity level.if u could post a pic of ur eel we could identify it and tell u exactly wat salinity it needs. brackish water is usually somewhere like when a river enters the sea.

A true snow flake eel is a salt water species (but can sometimes handle brackish water when young), a scat is generally considered a brackish species, but usually prefers salt water, the older it gets.
And a clown loach is a totally fresh water species, which cannot handle salt or brackish.
You need to start doing a little research before buying fish.

If you only have one clown loach they do better in groups of five or more. As for the brackish fish I agree with the rest of the members here please do a bit more research on the fish you want. Good luck with your tank.

In my area there are a few great LFSs where they actually ask what tank size, other fish and experience the customer has, and will try to steer them in the proper direction, and tell them at times "don't get this fish".
Others just want a sale, and don't bother, or don't care.
To have actual success in this hobby, a little research can be a major factor.
