Please help me with my new pictus

Okay I bought some fish off of Kijiji and 3 were pictus, the guy netted them and two got stuck in the net and had to be cut out. So now I have two fish with net stuck to them. I figure it's nylon so it's not rotting off anytime soon. Is this going to cause infection? Should I just leave them? Should I wait a few days then try to remove it once they are less stressed from the move? Should I try to remove it ASAP? Please help us out! also if i do the fish "surgery" will latex gloves protect me from the fins at all?

i had this problem before and the netting eventually fell off the fin. or maybe take it in to a pet store and maybe they could remove it

That's why you catch them in a plastic bag, cup, etc.....

Net's are a no go for these guys.

Same thing happened to me with a Pictus. I cut the net away as best I could but there was still net embedded in his fin. A week later the poor guy's fin had completely rotted off, with just a spine left. Fortunately it completely grew back in a month or so.

It's happens to everyone at some point I think. I went to catch another fish in the tank last night while cleaning and netted my pictus and snagged a fin in the net to. I think I cursed about 10 minutes while carefully trimming the net to free his fin. He also got stupid and snagged himself in the rag I clean the clean with last night, although he was able to free himself after a few seconds. I swear he had a suicide wish last night.
