Hey guys, last night i put my baby black aro into my 55 gallon tank. In it was a datnoid. And I woke up this morning, my black aro is vertically standing, head facing floor. But its still breathing. So i think theres still hope. It seems like the the datnoid was bothering him the whole night. Nibbling him. My black aro scales are all like comin off. What should i do????? I put in an extra air bubble. And added more salt. What is a good anti bacterial medicine i could use on him? Something i could buy in petco or petland?? Please i need help!!

heres some pic

Why did you put him in a 55 gallon ?
How long has the 55 been running ? How big is the aro ? This may be an indiciation of an ammo spike...
How's the datnoid ? How big is the Dat ?

I have never had any problem with Dats and Aro...

For right now, all you can do is salt, high temp and extra aeration.

Good luck..

i Put him in the 55 because in his temporary tank it didnt have a heater.
The 55 gallon has been running for couple months now. The aro is 4 inches long.
The datnoid is about the same size. I think i need some medicine to help keep bacteria out of him. Any good recommends?

He looks beaten up in the pic...every fin looks tattered..this was just one night? do as they suggested.. is the heater available for him? I am sorry to see this baby... hope he recovers..

Hes a goner, sorry

hope for the best..Why did you move him???? acclimate?????
He does look really Beat up.......But he does look like hes going to meet his maker

yes i think he is beat up, hes in my 55 gallon with the heater in it. so tempurature is 86 right now. Is there a good chance he will survive? I put in some good amount of salt and aeration.

Do i need some medication?

no medication right now.. no infection has started ...he is overly stressed and beaten up... he will either bounce back or not... most instances where this severly beat usually do not bounce back... and also being a baby.. i am sorry..but i would just hope...cover the tank... leave lights off and leave the tank alone..come back in 30 mins to check... right now no disturbance is helpful...

I'm sorry to see it, but it doesn't look good, especially his eye is sunken. He was scare by the dat, and probably has been jumping a lot in the tank. Either he pull through it by himself, or he won't. You can add some salt to prevent infection develop, but there's no medicine to resurrect him. Good luck

I hate to tell you, but, the headstand is almost always a sign that he already has one foot (fin) in fishy heaven's door. Do what Liz said. If he gets ANY worse, I would recomend that you help end the suffering. Also, I see the divider, but I have to ask...You did remove the dat, right?
