I don't suspect my Snook has any type of illness. He has been like this since I got him. He was eating silver sides before I bought him. He didn't eat for a long time when I bought him. He started eating silver sides for like a week and a pellet every now and then and now he won't eat at all. He just sticks the food in his mouth and spits it out. He also seems to be in love with our Zonatus. How can I get him to eat again?

starve him for a couple days to a week

and if those are his eggs congrats
:)

Try a variety of foods and see if he eats other things better.

Who's eggs are those? If they are his, parents will often not eat for weeks caring for their young. Also that is an AMAZING Zonatus! I am buying one from Rapps soon and I just hope it looks as good as yours! Have you ever seen Aquamojo's? Now that is another AMAZING Zonatus. How long has he been in the tank? What are his behaviors and actions in the tank? How is he reacting to other fish (if any others) besides the Zonatus?

Well, have you tried other foods?

He lives with just the Zonatus now in a 90 gallon tank I believe. We took out the other fishes because they didn't want them by the eggs and were attacking them. He seems to act like any other fish in love. They are always giving each other love taps all day.

I have tried cichlid bio-gold and silver sides. Do you think adding garlic to his fish will help? I heard it's an appetite stimulant. Do you have any other suggestions on what to feed him?

That definitely isn't a very varied diet. I would try different types of pellets (just try any number of them), brine shrimp, chopped shrimp, flakes - etc. and don't forget worms. (earthworms)

We tried earthworms. He just kind of sniffs them and moves on. He tends to be submissive and allow the Zonatus to have the food. We even tried massivore pellets which all our fish eat.
