my gar had a spot on him that when away about a month ago now i look at him tonite to feed him and he has this on him can anybody help me figure out what this is? just did a water change perimeters are good and im do for a water change tomorrow i hope it goes away rite by his back top fin....please help

I tried to do some research for you. But was not successful. Just bumping this. It looks really painful. I am sure the experts may have not seen the post. Good luck bro
 
I had a similiar situation happen with a different species a while ago. I did some research and talked with other owners etc and came to a conclusion that it is like a protein mutation that just mutates and grows. Supposedly completely harmless and I believe it but just to be safe I operated on my little buddy. The skin growth was white (Probably because it was in a different location) and appeared in 2 or 3 locations. What I did end up doing was cut the one on his anal fin off with nail clippers because it was close to the end. I scratched the one on his back off with a knife I then put Rid-ick on a towel and kind of pressed it on for a second( which is what I would recommend for your case). Now I know all of this sounds a bit crazy and it may be but it worked for me.
 
kinda looks like a tumor, i had a few friends whos goldfish had stuff like that on em they took em out and cut it off with a scalpel, go on youtube and type in goldfish surgery you can find some vids
