ENGALANDE!!!
Hi all my pride and joy titanic pleco has got velvet disease (pretty sure its that) i left it a few days then dosed the tank with methylene blue but since then (3 days ago) it seems to have spread a little.

It is right at the base of his head on top just above his mouth is it advisiable to apply some more methylene blue directly to the area with a cotton wool bud??

Also what steps should i take next i dont wana lose the guy :(

He has stay in he main tank i dont and cant have a hospital tank, should i dose again?? do large water change etc????

Please help me !!!!!!!

If it is velvet methylene blue is not very effective, and with a catfish don't use a formalin/malachite green formulation either. Try Jungle Products Velvet Guard (a dimethylene based med) or some copper sulfate based med like Copper-safe or Aquarisol. Another fairly safe med (probably the safest with cats) is Acriflavine, this one is even safe on eggs and open wounds. All of these are available through BigAl'sOnline.
