I don't know what to do I had an outbreak of white spot from new fish and 1 oscar didn't make it now a second is on its way out the white spot as been gone about 1 week. No visual signs of anything except white stringy poop. Is this internal parasites? How do I tell what sort?20161226_170547.jpg

I can't tell you what type of internal parasites but white poop is a definite sign I would suggest you go to the lfs and purchase a med that won't harm your bio-filtration but is effective for killing internal parasites.

Secondary bacterial infections often follow ick outbreaks because the fishes immune system is weakened, and allows normally benign bacteria to become virulent, so some general anti-bacterial medication will be needed.
Hope this stresses the need to quarantine any new fish. All it takes is 1 pathogenic microbe to enter into the confines of a healthy aquarium..

It was an old flowerhorn tank. The fish was all brought together. I do quarantine. Is it to late if the fish it's on its side and not swimming. It's sort of swimming with the water movement

shouldn't he be soaking his food in Metronidazole for white stringy fecal matter? Or is Praziquantel equally effective against Hexamita or are there 2 different pathogens w/ similar symptoms?

So I can just soak the food in metronidazole to cure this. I did lose the oscar will do this for the rest of the fish
