I have a rose barb that is sick. I know its not a "monster fish" but I have had this fish for a long time. Rosey is sick. She is missing scales on her side and her tail is all chewed up and where she used to be a goldish copperish color with bright pink fins, now she is a brownish green color, including her fins. She has not ate in 2 days. I took her out of the tank but what do I do? I dont want her to die!

Can you describe her tank, tank size, tankmates, maintenance regimen? Perhaps she's being attacked by another fish.

More info would be helpful, but it sounds like fin rot and/or tankmate attack. Let us know.

We definitely need more information. Water parameters, tank size, tank mates, waterchange schedule etc...

I agree we need more info, in the mean time a hospital tank containing clean water salted at a rate of 1-2 teaspoons salt per gallon won't hurt. It should be able to go several days without food but some live blackworms or live brineshrimp might tempt it into eating.

it is in a 10 g tank with a couple of acf's and a blackskirt tetra. The water temp is @ 78 degrees. I have tried to feed it fresh blood worms, brine shrimp, etc. fish still looks like hell:(
