I found my red Severum at the top of the tank today floating on his side. He is beat up from the other fish attacking him. I took him out an put him in another tank. I am not sure whats wrong with him everything else in the tank is normal. From what I have read in the search I am thinking swim bladder. I really dont have to much experience with disease as I try to stay on top of my tanks. Any info to help my lil Sev would be greatly appriciated.

What other tank mates do you have with the sevrum? Could it be that they were just badly beaten by the other fish? What types of fish?, how many?, what size tank?, etc.
You should put them in another tank, raise the temp., turn off the light and add salt. Have any of the other fish shown signs of disease?

They were in the tank with pikes, geos, a chocolate cichlid and some catfish. I have another sev that is a lil bigger than the two that died. Looked like they were beat up but they were with these fish for a while so i dont know why they would beat them up.
My bet is on the pike... Mine was mean as hell and killed 2 midas crosses that were 6 and 10 inches..
He is pretty mean when it comes to other pikes but he usually just ignores all the others. Maybe he just got pissed.
