I realized that one of my jacks was sick after feeding live blackworms so i put him in a different tank and medicated it with Jungle parasite clear. Its been almost a week and my JD still looks terrible, is listless and wont eat, but he is not breathing really hard anymore. I read somewhere that some fish just get sick from eating too many blackworms at once, could this be possible?? The 10 other fish in the tank with him are all healthy! Anyway i can get my fish to eat? or any recommendations on medications i can buy at my LFS that might help?

What are your water parameters? Did you overfeed the fish? How does the poo look? What are the other fish? How big is the tank?

Water parameters are perfect, i set up a 20 gallon sick tank for him. I didnt think you could overfed, but i fed a pretty hefty portion of blackworms as they were going crazy for them. There was 8 other jack's in the tank with him and they are all healthy and pooping normal. The sick one is not pooping at all and not eating at all(its been about a week). He is very dull in color and is swimming around really slow. he looks perfectly normal besides the really dull coloring. he is only 2inches and i have breed and raised him and the other 8 of his tankmates without any diseases. The only thing i can think of is either a parasite from the blackworms from my lfs or overfeeding. He was breathing really heavy at first but now is breathing normal. No clue what to do at this point...

Starve them for a day or so.

Has anyone ever overfed their fish??? I think this guy might have been overfed! he was always extremly fat and would go crazy for food and is one of the biggest fish in the whole spawn. I havent seen him poo in days and the tank he is in now is a barebottom tank so i would see if there was any poo on the bottom. From what i just read, fish get constipated when overfed. Also, it was the first time i fed blackworms and the fish went crazy for them and i ended up feeding 2 onces of blackworms to 9 2inch fish in 2 days... The only thing is, is that its been almost a week and he still isnt eatting.

That is how my Pbass are. I feed them in till they spit the food out and starve them for 3 days and they eat like they never ate before.
