Ok, I tried this without a pic and got no response. Is this a male or female? This fish is just under 7 inches of pure muscle. I've had it since 1 inch.

Butti's are hard to sex If I had to guess Id say male

Thanks guys, I wish there was some characteristics (fin length, etc.) beyond the fact that males just get bigger. in the 6th picture it looks like the beginnings of a nochual hump but I don't know if this is common in both sexes.

I'd lean male too, based on the length of the pelvic fins. In the pics of breeding pairs I've seen, the males tended to have much longer ones. I didn't notice a nuchal hump on either, or differants in the unpaired fins though. Not having another one to compare makes it harder though.

^^ I agree. Solely based on the fins I'd say male as well.
