I'm really not that good at sexing JD's but pic #1 and #2 are the same fish, and it looks like it has different blotching then #3. So how are you guys figuring two males when they look like (to me) to have two different blotching?

Males have spotting above the lower jaw line, and sometimes protrudes to lower jaw. females have blue splangling and spots on lower jaw. Here are some pics they arnt mine but first is male and second is female for refference.

It can be hard at times.the females are easier to sex than the males at that size. just look for more coloration on the lower jaw for a female and 9 times out of ten you'll get a female. but tryingto get a male at that size is alot harder. I have bought several hoping for male and turned out female. they are easier around 4" to sex. i usually have a hard time with ones smaller than that. so ill buy a handfull and grow out then pick the ones you want. and Jacks will grow pretty fast till they hit around 6" or so.
