my Oscar stopped eating about 3 weeks ago, now he has been floating on his side for 4 days and is suffering I need to euthanize him or see of I can get him to come back around. he has some
sort of rot eating through layers of his abdomen. I treated with melatix with no luck also added salt to the water. his tank mate another tiger Oscar is perfectly fine. seems like he is almost paralyzed staying floating on the same side, occasionally kicks across the tank every few hours remaining on his side though
help me out guys what should I do?

It may be too late for this fish but if you want to try post your water parameters include Ph, ammonia, nitrite and nitrate. Hardness would be helpful if available.

I'd make sure to test your parameters, if its anything above zero for ammonia and nitrite, those are the ones I'd try to amend as quickly as possible, I.e. water change.

It's also important information to have so I konw which meds to recomend. Not all medacations are sutable for all types of water parameters and in some situations can be dangerious or ineffective. Looks like the OP posted and logged off.

I moved him out of the tank yesterday in a 20 gallon with 10 gallons of the original tanks water in it. I'm at work no parameters is there something I can grab on the ride home. this fish won't quit I just hope the his condition isn't irrepreble.

Since I don't know your water parameters get some Aquarium salt, Furan 2, Triple Sulfa, Malachite green and if you can get Kanamycin. If you go to petsmart or petco they will not have Kana but a good LFS should. Kana is the best a second choice would be Maracyin 2. Test the water when you get home and we'll go from there.
