i think your gonna have to pull that sucker out and vent it, with such a green face, that body shape and what looks like could be blue spangling all over the body im thinking the larger one is a cross dressing male, but if thats not spangling then it very well could be a very male looking female. the smaller one is def female but with the larger one i think your just going to have to vent to know for sure, thats def one of the harder ones to sex, especially at such a large size, how big are they? I am surprised they dont murder your ebjd (a VERY nice one by the way

)I think both are female. The one with body spangles and a green face has no spangles on the fins except three small spots on the back tip of the dorsal...which indicates female to me. I've seen females with spangles and females with green faces. I've seen males with black dorsal fins but never a male with spots only on the tip of the dorsal.
Yes. Female bc lack of spangling in the unpaired fins and the giant black blotch on the dorsal give it away. Also males get a metallic white sheen on the back half of the body in the center of the scales and u do not see that on the two fish in the pictures

What does vent mean btw? The larger one is about 5-6 inches. The EBJD gets along with the festae and will attack the festae only when he is ready to breed.

Time to get some more festaes and grow them out again. It took a year just to grow them out this big. I guess I will have to wait again.Thank you!
Vent is when you look at the genital papilla, and if you see a something that looks like Oo then its a female, oo, male, also the males is a bit more pointy, look at some pictures online to compare to. Gotta lift up their skirts!
