Hi all I need some help im kinda worried about my Lygodactylus williamsi*eggs .my girlfriend noticed two days ago that one of the eggs was broken open we thought we still had time so did not have anything over the eggs yet .so she quickly and carefully removed all the decorations and the parents but was not able to find the baby .do u think that the parents would have eaten it ? Second when she was done she noticed a shadow in the other egg moving .that was two days ago and she has not put anything back in the tank and has put the parents in a temp terrarium. But now the shadow is not moving and I thoughr the other one would have hatched by now .is this normal for the baby not to move ?

I've never had any of my Lygo parents eat the babies. As long as they're well fed and the females have plenty of calcium, they usually leave the babies alone. Babies are escape artists and blend in very well to the decor. I hope the baby didn't escape when you were removing items from the tank to search for it.

Give the egg another week. They don't always hatch at the same time. You can candle the egg to check on it with a flashlight.
