Please help with my carpintis gender!

I have had a pair of H. carpintis rio hondos for some time now, but they are showing no signs of spawning. My other cichlid pairs are all spawning like crazy. I'm starting to wonder if I have two of the same gender that just get along.

Please give opinions on the genders of the fish below (first two pics are the same fish, last pic is not my fish)

First few pics look female. The carpintis on the bright substrate with the blood parrots looks male.

The dark shading on the dorsal fin, body / head / fin shapes and overall subdued coloration says female on top. By comparison the fish below lacks the dark spot, has brighter coloration, pointier fins, a chunkier body and the barest suggestion of a nuchal hump. That breeding tube looks male as well, though the photo doesn't show it very clearly nor in perfect profile.

I agree with Serpantine the 1st 2 pics appear to be female, when she is ready to spawn, the dark area in the dorsal will get darker yet.

I was beginning to suspect that my two are female. The last pic is for sale locally. So if it's a male I might pick him up this weekend and see if I can't finally get a breeding pair.

The one for sale may be too young to have developed the typical pointed fins, that males usually do, but beside the steep profile, males often have more pointed dorsal and anal fins.

Looks female. The breeding tube is U shaped. A male breeding tube would be V shaped.

Ok. Cool. I am going to buy that male locally then. My female carpintis hates me for doing that to her BTW.
