I have not kept these and the info available is contradictory, The size is usually listed as 12" but wild ones are listed as rarely getting to almost 24", they are also listed as either fresh or brackish, some sites claiming they need brackish but fishbase and others listing them as living and breeding in light brackish and even slightly hard fresh water ponds, They should be kept at a ph above 7.0 and at least 1 tablespoon of salt per 5 gallons is probably wise. They are predators that convert readily to predator pellets and chunks of fish, worms, and shrimp. The cheapest I am finding them online for is $30 for a 3" fish and the highest I am currently finding is $60 for a 4" one so $19.99 is a great price. The silver datnioid is the Datnioides (Coius) quadrifasciatus.

Thank you for your info....The store who has them (actually 2 ) Say that one is brackish and the other is fresh water...I also but salt in my fresh water for stress scrapes and electolites...Anyone , else with info please feel free.....

Thanks !!!
