I am seting up a 220 gallon and dont know what heater is best. I was thinking of a cable heater but cant seem find as big as i would like.
any suggestion or advice would help 24x72x31 thanks.

Get a couple of submersible heaters. I know Rena makes a 300w, but most others that I've seen offer 250w.

If you are going to be using a canister filter, I would recommend a Hydor ETH external heater. There are 3 models to choose from but you have to match it to the hose size on canister filter.

I was thinking of the fx5 this seems to be the most recommened filter.
I bought the tank for my black shark also i have a green terror and a jack dempesy. these guys are it for now.

;) My heater is Rena Cal Top Light Excel. Not easy to find now because of newer models but still availlable. A lot are going with the Visi-Therm Stealth. http://www.petsolutions.com/Visi-Therm-Stealth-Submersible-Heaters+I51303053+C1021.aspx I've heard good things as to durability & lifetime warranty. (good bang for the buck). If you want to step the game up (my next when the Renas finally go after 5 yrs.) you can try http://www.petsolutions.com/Titanium-Heaters+I12516830+C1021.aspx . A bit more of an investment (controllers are seperate) but my brother swears by his for both his 250g tank & 375g basement pool. "T"
