20,000 Leagues Under the Sea
 I did something stupid. I bought a ton of plants before reading this forum!
So, I have a 125 g with a new bulb that I asked my fish store to pick out for plants - now I think it should be a coralife - is that correct? Sorry - so confused now. And I do not have C02 equipment. Does anyone know if the Red Sea Controlled Co2 diffusion system for 40 gallons at $30.00, plus refill a month will work somewhat?? (yes I know it's for 40 gallons but I thought it would be better than nothing). It's at drsfostersmith.com. They use yeast or something. Will it hurt fish??
:WHOA:I am so upset. I do not want to add a whole Co2 system and frankly I'm disappointed that one has to be added to have plants and I wish I would have been told this before at the fish store...
What can I do???? Please offer some advice. The whole Co2 system just sounds too difficult and expensive. Thank you:cry:

#1 Stop crying.

#2 - CO2 isn't always needed.

#3 - What type of light do you have, and how many watts. It probably isn't enough for most plants on a 125g if it only has 1 bulb.

#4 - If CO2 supplementation is needed, Seachem Fluorish Excel works just as well.

#5 - Do you know what plants you do have? Most mosses, java ferns and anubias are excellent low light species.

^ what he said, plus stop crying!! need to know more about your setup before we can help

i would simply reccomend good lighting
heavy doses of liquid ferts
and either flourish gravel or root tabs
gl! ;)

Thanks guys, you helped and I'm not crying as much. But I was so upset that I mistakenly asked/answered questions in the wrong thread also:ROFL:
Anyway, I think I will get much! better lighting and hopefully that will help. I also found a Marc Weiss product that supposedly helps with co2 issues - not sure if it sounds safe as it says it does not produce hole in the head or lateral line disease..huh? I guess there are products that help plants but really hurt fish (nightmare) and he says his won't.
Will look into the system previously mentioned.
As far as the plants - no clue, because I never have time to shop and my fish guy is so busy whenever I go to his shop, so I rang him up and asked him to pick out sturdy plants for my system. But I don't think they were as sturdy as my system needed ie; better lights needed, need nutrients, fertilizer, etc. Thanks.
