well i brought some sand 4 my tank i cleaned it all out put it in my tank in its cloudy will it be ok to put my oscar and company in there will they be okay

The sand didn't get clean enough. You really should have bought a higher quality pool filter sand. It costs a little more but just a couple of rinses gets it clean enough to have no dust cloud....well worth the money IMO. As is, the tank might cloud up every time the fish stir up the sand. The fish should be alright but I don't know if I can say the same for your filter's impellers.

(In the beginning, I bought playsand from the Home Depot. It sucked so bad that I completely took it out and started over with pool filter sand from Leslie's Pool Supply.)

If you JUST put the sand in there don't worry, no matter how well you clean sand or how much you paid for it, it will not instantly sink to the bottom.

If it has been in there for a few hours and its still really cloudy the first response is probably the best advice to take. Sand isn't bad for fish, but your filter will take a beating.

I disagree. My 20-grade silica pool filter sand sinks to the bottom immediately with minimal rinsing and absolutely zero dust cloud.
