OMFG OMFG!!!!

i had just put an odyssea cnister filter on my 40 gal yesterday.

and al my fish were fine.

bnut when i woke up this morning.

MY DATNOIDS WERE ON THE FLOOR UPSIDE DOWN.

my friend had an ammonia spike, with the same BRANd of filter...

i moved the datnoids to my flowerhorn tank...
divided.

but they are still upside down... breathing on the fLOOR.

MFK PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

WHAT SHOULD I DO?
ANY KNOWN MEDiCINE?

please please please!!! A-S-A-P

if this was a new filter you needed to leave the old one on to give it time to establish itself.

I would return the old filter to the tank if you can, it may be enough to help. An amonia spike would be caused by lack of biological filtration.

And if you did a water change as well this is not good especially on a 40 gal

NO i did not do a water change...
EVERTYHING WAS PERFECTLY FINE...
all my fish ate feeders~
filter worked perfectly.
BUT~ i added some more water to my tank...
with extra amounts of water cleaner just in case.

but like about 3 weeks ago... i cycled the canister filter for about a day.

MY MAIN PROBLEM IS...
HOW DO I HELP MY DATNOIDS SURViVE?!?!?!

about the tank.
im currently doing a 60% water change. if not more...

Hopefully the tank they're in now is fully cycled (longer than a day...like, at least 30 days). Add a corner filter or any filter that can hold Chemi-Pure bags to remove ammonia from their holding tank that the dats are purging from their systems. Keep the lights dim and don't mess with them while they're recovering. No food in the tank until they're all upright and colored back up.

Good Luck.

(BTW, there's no such thing as cycling a filter in a day. Even a seeded bio-chamber needs time to settle out.)

not to mention that he has an acrylic seaclear system II tank with the built in filtration in the back..so i doubt it was due to lack of biological filtration
