I just received 2 wc rays. 1 is not eating blood worms and is very thin. I'm going to get some mysis shrimp tomorrow and I was thinking about soaking it in garlic guard to entice them to eat. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. I'm already doing a prazi treatment.

how big are they? what are your water params? water change schedule? filtration? tankmates? we need to know everything you can give.... cut up nightcrawlers usually work real good....what kind rays are they?

2 hystrix rays. No other tank mates. 4-5 inches. 0 ammo 0 trite 40-50 trate. I got Saturday afternoon. Haven't turned on the lights. 55 gal. Doing a 10 gal water change now to just keep the tank nice and clean. I know some times it takes awhile to get them to eat after they've been shipped but she is really thin! I just want to get her eating as soon as possible. He's a little pig already and doing really good. Ph is 7.4. To me everything is perfect. I don't have any problems in any of my tanks. I was also considering using some salt while I'm doing the prazi treatment but I'm not sure if it is needed. What has the responses been with rays when the food has been soaked in garlic guard.

Like ajsmith235 said try some chopped up night crawlers, you can get them from the bait section at walmart or any fish bait shop. If no luck with those live blackworms is another good one to try, but have to order those online usually.

I hope thats just an isolation tank or you are going to be upgrading soon, they are going to outgrow that 55 gallon very fast. Personally I wouldnt put them in a 55 even at that size, not if its a 12"x48" like I used to have.

agreed with all the above. black worms usually work great, but as a last resort throw some gs in there to at least get a reaction out of her and get her going but i would try black worms first.

The 55 gal is a treatment tank only. I do a daily 10 gallon water change. And treatment of prazi. She finally ate a little of the blood worms this morning. I'm going to feed them again after work.

Blood worms aren't much of a meal for rays. You'll be much better off with either black worms or earthworms - and the ray will be much more likely to take either of those than bloodworms.
Curious: Who was the supplier?

Ya, I agree. Go and pick up some earthworms. Feed her those for awile to build up her fat base again. Then work on other foods. But Id use earthworms (night crawlers, canadian worms, etc.. not blood worms rt now)

I'm gonna get some earth worms on my way home. I'm just thankful she's starting to eat. Both of them have incredible patterns. I always check to make sure their eating something when I get them home. As for the company. I went through Aquascape. They did a great job with the shipping and everything I asked for. I have no complaints about them at all. They were easy to work with and kept in contact with me through the entire process. Also knowing that she will eat now I'm even more excited. These 2 are gonna be stunners!
