Hi MFK,
I got a pair of GTerrors and they were fine together. They are in a 72 bow. Now, I see the females fines are deteriorating literally. I tried searching it but found nothing. Her tail has lost a lot of its actual extension and has holes is ripped. Her side fins/flippers are mangled and beat up. I seperated the tank in half and put the male, perfectly fine, on one side and the female on the other. Everything semmed fine after i did that like 3 hours ago, but now i noticed she is disoriented, maybe looking at the bottom/ barebottom, of the tank.
Please tell me what is happening. I have had this pair for a month now, no spawns, but no particular aggression.
P.S., the tank has slates, which is buffed out were it was sharp, but not perfect, but i dought that she cut her fins there. Thanks so much!

The male probably beat her up overnight. Cichlids are very smart and agile, they won't just cut themselves with rocks unless they're agitated and trying to run from something.

Keep the divider up until she heals. Make sure you have great water quality and monitor her closely for any new symptoms.

Now she is disoriented..
She is facing the floor of the tank, maybe her reflection?, and is falling back on he head so she is half upside down and then regains balance....
I put a plant in for her to balance,,
Whadyou think
And ya, overnight

Fin rot doesn't make fish go from healthy to shredded fins and loss of balance overnight. Bad water quality would affect both fish equally, if she's that bad then the male would at least show some symptoms as well. I still think he beat her up.

Can you post a picture?

LOL your male is trying to breed and is being over agressive bro. she is not ready to spawn at the moment and is trying to get away from the male. hence the staring at the bottom of the tank hoping an exit will appear;) so i would recommend putting up a divider with flat rocks on bottom of divider so she an spawn when shes ready. in the mean time this will give her time to heal propoerly and gain confidence again and then maybe you can try re-introducing them again in a few weeks after fattening her up:) good luck. oh yeah, this isnt fin rot and you cant find her sypmtoms online unless you try googling results of injuries from pairing fish out or something

Ok
I will post pics after school, Thanks so much guys,
I have been waking up all night to check on her and her tail seems to have deteriorated even more
I will add Meleafix....
Anything else to add besides a little salt, already done...
Thanks so much
