i woke up this morning to all my cats dead except my pleco water is cloudy to .does anyone know what could have happened ??? yesterday they seemed fine swimming around and the water was crystal clear

That picture makes me want to cry. :/ Obviously something went way off in the water... did a filter crap out? If one fish died it very well could have clobbered the water parameters after several hours and killed the rest. Man that sucks.

My catfish chucked up a shrimp once, and even with the insane filtration I have the water went to crap over night. Fish rot pretty fast.. it was nasty. Luckily I caught it before it was too late but I'm sure another couple hours and they'd have been dead.

thanks man and i think that was the prob the filter was fine but i did however see some food at the bottom when i cleaned it

What are/were your water test results?
 
I had my heater go crazy when i i was out of town and warm my water too much and killed 5 of my fish in my 180 gallon. I'm sorry I know the feeling.

my guess is MAJOR amonia spike... do w/c then check params again...
