:help2:

I just got a 90 gal on craigslist and it came with this filter.

I have no idea how to set it up, or use it. I am planning on using it for freshwater. Is this filter even good for fresh water?
I'm lost but I had a feeling MFK would be the right place to go to help me out! :1zhelp:

Best filter ever. The sump. As far as putting it together. Black pump with the plug goes from sump to tank. White outlet goes from over in tank to sump.

Thank You! Glad to hear it's a good filter! :woot:

Does this filter have an over-flow box? Do I need one incase the power goes out? Does it look like it's missing anything? Could you please tell me exactly where each part goes? Regarding the extra clear pieces in the picture and so on!

If you have fresh water you don't need protein skimmer. The white hose attach to clear box is your overflow. That will suck the water from tank to sump

The piece hanging on your fence, hangs on the rim of the tank on the outside.
The clear box on the left is the one that hangs inside the tank, use the screw to tighten it to the outer box lip. You adjust the height of it to determine your tanks water level.
There may be some U or J tubes used to siphon water from the box inside the tank to the one hanging on the outside, like the photo below.

Look at a YouTube video, it's hard to explain in words. Look up sump with overflow box.

The bit hanging on your fence hangs on the back of your tank and draws water from your tank and dumps it in your sump via that white hose. youll need to grab a filter sock (google up how that works). that pump needs to be placed in the return section of your sump to bring the water back up to your tank via the clear tubing.
google sump filters. do some research. they're the best filters because they can be totally customised. i even run one on my 20g. your heaters and other equipment can sit in the sump. its probably a good idea to clean it out after you do your research and are familiar with all the componants.
enjoy!

Thank You for your help guys.
Where would the filter sock go? Also: there are 2 black pump-like things... I'm not sure where they go.

Do I need media for the overflow box? Or the clear box that goes in the tank that connects to the overflow box.

Also: is this a protein skimmer? Since this is for freshwater can I leave this piece out?
