The water in my 75 gallon has gone cloudy and since yesterday I have done 3 water changes and nothing happens. I have a Mag 350, penguin 200 biowheel and some sort of Marineland canister filter on it. Please help the fish are breathing heavy. The only thing I can really do I water changes I don't like using chemicals, but will if necissary.

Did you clean the filters/media? might be worth a shot. My guess if not would be leftover food stuck somewhere in the filter. If you have an air pump on another tank that is unaffected add it to this tank instead until you clean up the water so you don't loose any fish due to lack of o2..

Since it just happened it is probably a bacterial (grayish to pale brown) or algae bloom (greenish to muddy brown) and should settle down over the next few days, add a couple airstones or a powerhead to bump up surface exchange to speed things along. Keep an eye on the fish for behavioral changes.

I believe it might be bacterial bloom because it is grayish in color. There are airstones on already.
