I purchased this FH at a lfs for $20... The person working there said he had no clue what kind of fish it is but clearly it's a FH. Can someone please tell me what kind and the sex of this please. It's around 3-4 inches

i say male too. tht kok's a bit shrunked though.So considering that it's a kamfa, does it have potential of having a big kok? And what are certain ways to stimulate its growth? Thx
Now that Im back into flower horn I wish I lived on the West Coast. I'm sure its because of your closer proximity to Asia that you guys get to find flower horns like this for $20.00. What a beautiful pick up, and I'm sure this Kamfa (with his square body and fins) is going to grow into a beautiful monster. His pearling is awesome and his shape is perfect. For now I would feed him a high protein pellet diet to stimulate his growth. I use a variety of foods that have my little King Kamfa growing like a monster. I use Okiko Platinum, Hikari Gold, Hikari Excel, and Hikari Frozen Blood worms. Okiko Platinum is designed for Flower horn with pearling and it has a very high protein level (60%). Give it a try to stimulate his growth for two to four weeks and then mix it with Hikari or New Life Spectrum to continue his development. Another way to stimulate his growth is through amazing water conditions. Weekly water changes will help tremendously. Keep the updates coming, I can't wait to see what he turns into!!
considering it is a male, yeah it will have a big koks especially kamfas, but only with a proper maintenence and diet. CrazyCichlids have already listed the food tht are good for kok enhancing. i also recommend to feed him live food such as insects, nightcrawlers, live worms especially earthworms which is high in protein. good luck with him, keep him updated.
