Hi. I've had this Pike for about a month now and I just want to confirm what he/she is and how big I can expect it to get in a 220 gallon tank. I'm hoping it's one that gan grow to about 18-24 inches.

Thanks in advance for any assitance you can provide me!

He won't grow that large, unfortunately. He's a sax-group pike, my guess would be lucius. Expect a max size of 7-9". On the plus side, not a bad looking fish.

Aw bummer! That's not very big. Oh well, it's still a cool fish. Thanks for responding though.

It's definitely a spangled pike (saxatilis group) so it won't get anywhere near the size you are hoping.

sp. venezuela gets closer to the size you are looking for; they are common too.

my best guess would be menezesi also but im not convinced of it.

That does look right. Do you have any better pictures?

No, my picture taking skills aren't the best. But I've looked at some other threads and it looks exactly like what others have called Cren. Pacaya.

Now that I've looked at some of the Cren. Menezesi posts I think they look an awful lot like my fish too. I give up.. haha
