Please ID for me

Was sold to me as a Black ear paroon shark.
Just wanted to make sure it is not just an id shark.

Paroons are pricey now a days. I live in PA and had to get to from southern Cali for 175$ go get mine 2 months ago

IDs usually have noticeable stripes along the body at that size. Plus it seems to be just a hair stockier bodied than an I'D as well. Looks more like a paroon to me.

To end this discussion here is a Paroon the same size as yours. Notice the pointed fin. That's a Paroon. My baby ones even had pointed dorsal fins.

My babies ^^^ see how yours fin slants back and has a rounded front? Making it a ID.

This is my old ID see how it looks like yours? Mind you the dorsal fin is down.
