well im not planning to breed them dude, 1 is ok for me, breeding aros is gonna take a lot of care and expertise and expertise i dont have hehehe. So how can I know that my aros a chick or dude? Coz Im planning to name it.

you could tell by looking at the vent sometimes. i had/ have a pair of adult silver arowanas that laid eggs in the tank, and it was quite obvious that there is a difference in the vents. I have since lost the female but i still have the male (8 years old now) and you could still see the tiny protusion coming out of his vent, not sure what it is called, but it looks similar to what you would see in a male cichlid.

omg. really beuty aro
hope one day mine gets bigger this way.
how old id he/she ???

i don't know how to know the sex of them, but I named mine Bruce (from Bruce Dickinson - Iron Maiden vocals).

tnx dude, i dont know how old my aro is, jst bought it at my LFS like this for a really good price.

Are you really bruce dickinson?

How big is it? Looks to be about 20 to 22". I would guess female, looking at the jaw angle, distance between the anal and pelvic fins and body height. All just theories, no way I can prove this yet You can see more in the following post http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1605033#post1605033

male??my guess from the jaw

Actually looks like a case of PLJ, which is a deformaty. I do beleive the males have lower jaws the extend beyond the upper jaw, but it is slight not extreme such as this one.
