I got this one from a bait shop 3 days ago. It's currently in quarantine and then going to my 120. I originally thought it was a white sucker, but this one is brown. Actually a little darker than in the pic.

Also, it's not eating :(. I tried worms and several different kinds of fish food.

white would more than likely correct 3 days without eating isn't much they can be little finky about eating and really do better over sand. have you tried blood worms?

I have frozen bloodworms. I also have a culture of live blackworms.

I moved the sucker to a planted 55g with sand. I wanted to wait a bit, but he was not doing well in the small space of the quarantine tank. Usually I watch for diseases and stuff, but this time I just dewormed.

He was picking at the bottom yesterday.

It does look like a juvenile white sucker. I've caught them and kept them in the past. They are usually shy and finicky eaters at first. Cool fish for sure...although they do get HUGE! Expect it to get 10+ inches in no time, usually end up close to 20. I'm a bit disappointed you didn't get out there and catch it yourself! Lol. I usually find juvenile white suckers up small tributary streams that have a lot of vegetation. Run your net thru the weeds.
