I bought this catfish from a LFS a couple months ago. It was 2 in then. It is now 5. They sold it to me as a Blue Channel Catfish. It has about 5 spots on one side and none on the other. It dosent look like a blue to me. Any suggestions?

OK thanks dragonsong. I have ruled out that is is a blue catfish. Doesn't look like one. It is either a channel or a blue channel
The best way to determine weather it is channel or blue channel is to count the rays on the anal fin. A channel catfish will have 27-30 anal fin rays while the blue has 33-35 anal fin rays. Either way your are going to have a monster.
Looks like a channel cat to me. Channel catfish are often sold as blue channels. It is hardly ever that a north american blue catfish is sold by a pet store. A good way to tell also is the anal fin is rounded on channels and straight on Blues.
