What kind of cichlid is this? Just picked it up the other day. Was told it is a hybrid, but don't know of what? It was a good deal so I picked it up and it looked cool.

Defiantly looks like a Texas hybrid, but I have no idea what other fish it was hybrid with. I am going to take a complete shot in the dark and say maybe a JD but most likely I am wrong.

yeah it definitely looks like it has a lotta texas in it. in the pic u can't tell that much, but the base color is orange. will update as it gets bigger. its about 2.5 inches now.
my lfs has these ones too they tagged it neon texas. They have green terrors like that too like their body is round instead of long body
