please id this fish!!!!!!!!!!

i was fishing saturday and a lady caught this little guy. brought him home, and then.....eats 2" crawdad and just ate some rosys!!!!!! what is it? its changing colors to match gravel! then changed when it feeds!

it looks like some type of sculpin to me idk tho!

Looks like a Shimofuri goby (Tridentiger bifasciatu).

Do y'all have Bowfin in California???? Amia Calva????? If it were caught here in Mississippi, I'd say it was a juvenile Bowfin, but I don't have a clue for you over there on the other side of the country.

I believe Sandtiger nailed it- Shimofuri goby. It's definitely some kind of goby, and no other goby found in CA has that pattern.

sandtiger looks like you are right! thank you. it was caught from Lake Murray, one of our many man made lakes here in san diego.its really a cool like fish, it really like crawdads.
