Hey guys i picked this fish up from a friend of mine a few weeks ago. He was sold to me as a chuco intermedius. He was in a vat when i got him and did not have to much color. Since then he has colored up a lot and now I am thinking he is a vieja maybe regani or guttulatus? I can put my finger on it but this fish sure is nasty lol

The fish does not have the red spotting or marbling around the head like a bifa would. I really dont think its a bifasciatum. I have not kept many vieja and have not had the chance to see how they color up as they mature. It is driving me crazy that I cant figure this one out lol. I am not so sure that I am going to keep him though, I really love him and he is a great looking fish but he is nasty. I am entertaining the idea of setting up a tank for him but I am not 100% about that yet.

I need some help hear guys lol

looks just like my bifa

Really!?! I always thought that bifasciatum would have had much more red around the head and chest. Can you guys post some pictures of your bifasciatum for comparison?

It looks nothing like the Bifa. But it does look a lot like my Paratheraps Breidohri. Nice looking fish, hang on to it.
