Please ID this FL or Spotted gar :)

Hey guys, sorry bout this but it has been bugging me for a while now, i have two gars which i presume are spotted gar, but i could be wrong as they sorta look like FL gars aswell. My LPS brand them as not gars but garlic fish XD.. Anyways a little help would be much appreciated.

It's nearly impossible to distinguish Florida gar from spotted gar from just pictures alone, but the majority of the gars in the fish trade that look like the pictured ones are Florida gar.

I would say this is only difficult during the first few couple of months
(5" or less).

If I put up a picture of my spotted and florida next to each other you would recognize the differences immediately.

The OP has a FL gar like you said.

you cant always tell the difference but when they have some size to them you tend to be able to figure it out
