please id this orange fish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If you could get a picture of the fish you are asking about as nice as the picture of the Kenii, that would be awesome. First blurry guess would be cherry red zebra. (which I have never seen very "cherry red")

...There is no picture of a kenyi ;) There is a picture of a zebra...:D

Its a M. estherae, aka Red Zebra.

Did you buy these two fish together? If so then I would say they are a male/female Metriaclima estherae. The male is the blue fish and the female the bright orange.
Ignore the wild wild guessing done by the previous "so called" experts:confused: :screwy: .
I have just acquired a further 70 wild caughts ranging from Copidochromis to many mbuna. Carry around 350 breeding fish and 500+ fry at various stages of growth. :naughty:  :headbang2 :nilly:

If we're the "so-called experts", does that make you the egotistical, self-proclaimed 'expert'?

Zebra

Jee scotty, we sure missed you. :grinno:

OP asked for an ID of the orange fish, which Sin properly identified.
In no way does throwing in your two cents (fake pennies?) for something no one asked for make you superior to anyone.

I have to say I've never met someone who was ever so wrong at something so subjective as identifying fish species from a photograph and yet so confident and even proud of his mistakes as well as egotistical and full of himself.

You seem to brag about the most irrelevant goings on about your part of the hobby at every chance you get, which is bothersome - I'll never get back the two seconds it took to read your CRAP, and you mislead and mis-advise people. How's that any different from any other random guy on a site? You do it that much more often. Like a know-at-all newb with too many books and not enough experience, only you're not a newb therefore you should know better. But you don't.
I had hoped some sense might have sunk in since last you hypocritically pointed your dirty finger at anyone else who might have been so bold as to make "whacko" judgments, but no, here you are, condescending like you never boasted cramming 60 wild-caught mbuna into a 30 gallon tank, terribly misidentified someone's fish or made yourself looks like an ass before.

I guess anyone with any common sense, courtesy or proper knowledge and advice should leave the rift lake boards now, since you're here to "take care" of everyone. :shakehead
