I got this guy in with a shipment of bellycrawlers. He's a little different and wondered if anyone could id him for me. He has a clearly split dorsal fin. It's not healed injury, it's split with a gap about a quarter inch long. The fish is currently about 4 inches.

Sveni, they are commonly collected with bellycrawlers.

Is it common for them to have a split fin like that though? I thought that for a minute but can't find any pics with a seperated fin. I have two just like it!

I haven't seen any with a split fin. Without seeing a better fin shot, it is hard to say. I would guess they were injured when they were captured. Since there are more than one, maybe they are from the same spawn and it is a genetic defect. Just guess though.

The split fin is a pretty cool feature and on this guy it looks natural because there's such a decent spacing between the front fin and back fin.
