Anyone want to take a stab at an ID on this pup for me. I've got my thoughts, but I'll wait to see what you guys think. (This is the only pic I have right now until they all get here this afternoon.)

very young...., without any other background info it would be hard to say at this point.....

Yeah, the trouble is background info. They are coming from another aquarium who don't know about the parents. All four pups apparently look close to this one.
I was thinking mantilla or scobina. I leaned away from mantilla since the ones I've had are darker spots on a lighter body, and this one looks like lighter spots on a darker body.

although the ray cannot be Id'ed from the picture alone, I can tell you that it is definately not a pure Scobina and It is not a Mantilla. You may think it looks Mantilla ish because Im almost certain it is a hybrid. Many hybrids appear to look like Mantillas which is another topic for another day lol The ray appears to have some motoro in it but the other genes are impossible to tell without knowing the parents. Everyone likes to guess what cross a hybrid is but in reality it is only a guess and not a very educated one.

You have yourself some cb most likely motoro hybrids.

I'm leaning away from scobina kinda looks like a orbigyna but the spots are bigger on this one... can you get pics of the parents... dumerils maybe??? don't have my books with me to scan through...

I also was thinking if not mantilla, then a motoro cross of some kind. But is a Mantilla its own species or is it just a cross??
