I purchased this Severum yesterday as a ‘Peruvian Severum’, but can’t find much about it by this name online. Is there another name for this Severum?

I appreciate the tag but unfortunately cichlids are not my area of knowledge, duanes duanes might know. I personally think it’s just a simple green severum but my knowledge on cichlids is subpar.

It does look like a heros efasciatus - green sev. A lot of the juvies do look the same though.

I agree. A lot of the hobby-raised Heros look like this. We call them greens or turquoise, but the truth is that they’re a mix of genetics from various described and undescribed species that have been interbred over decades.

Unless you know for sure it was an imported wild-caught fish, the name really means nothing.
