Hey all.

Been a member of this site for some time now & still baffled @ the sheer number of posts saying my "RTC ate my other fish".....can I keep a TSN in a 125 galon tank etc etc:cry:

Guys & girls if you just take a little bit of time & effort to read up on what it is your buying ALL the information is out there for you.

I'm not trying to flame anyone & hell we all make mistakes, over the years I too have made lots of silly mistakes & had fish eat or kill other fish, or i have incorretly brought fish that turn out to be something different.

That cute little 2 " RTC or TSN you have now
*WILL outgrow its current tank - FACT
* WILL eat anything up to 1/3 its body size - FACT (or at least attempt too)

Catering for the beautiful huge catfish takes, time, effort, space & money!
For sure you can keep these fish in smaller set ups to begin with but you must have the means & the availabilty to upgrade their tanks as soon as needed.

So many of these beautiful fish end up dead because of tanks too small or bad water quality & the ones that do survive end up as unwanted pets or being ofloaded to zoos & public aquariumums and such.

Think before you buy people.

i think some people have read the infos and warning about these cats,it's just that they refuse to believe it until they experience it themselves which will be like a slap on the face.
But yeah you're right, most just don't read, maybe they were too excited to have one so that they have something to brag, just like a normal kid with a new toy.
