I recently recieved an email from a guy wanting to buy what my items. He didn't give much detail in knowing what I had to sell, but did know something about angel fish as I had posted some for sale a number of place a while back. We emailed back and forth and to make a story short, I told him i'd sell my wild angels for $30 each. I was shocked when he said he would pay me the $150 for them and he would take care of the shipping arrangement. Today, I received this email below from him and was wondering what people thought about it:

Thanks for the swift response and i stay's in Tampa Florida,

I really appreciate your mail and am pleased with the condition, pics and also with the price $150.I'll handle the shipping arrangement myself okay.

Concerning the payment & shipping arrangement. My client in the state wants to pay me sum money worth $2200 via a certified check drawn under united states bank.

I'll instruct her to issue it on your name and address provide to me.Having it in mind that business is based on trust, immediately you comfirm the receipt of the payment delivered.Take it to your bank and get it cash, deduct the amount due for the purchase and remit the remaining funds to my reputable shipping Agent via Western Union Money Transfer. After that, he will come over to your place for the pick up arrangement to commences. Also he 'll be the one to handle ownership tittle and other documents on my behalf inorder for this transaction to work out fine..

If this arrangement it's okay by you, kindly get back to me with all this details below so that the payment can be issue out for you without no further delays.
1)Name as to be written on check
2)Full address to where the check will be mailed out to
3)Phone # so as to contact you

Looking forward to hear back from you Asap.

As you can see, his English is bad and everything he has said sounds fishy. Just wanted to warn people about people out to scam you.

Sounds like a scam to me. I would think that something *dirty* is going on. Why would he want to issue you the check for over $2000, that to me sounds like he needs to not have a paper trail leading to him..........JM2C, Someone else might have another idea.

It's an old scam. Don't do it. You refund the difference and their check bounces 10 days later. You owe the back back the money.

Oh don't worry! I was wondering about this guy from the first email he sent to me. He said he would buy them before I sent pictures, which tells me right there he had something besides his hand up his sleeve... I'm a high school student, and I figured his scam out...How stupid do people thing Americans are anyways...

It's an OLD scam...why can't these clowns come up with something new? If you have free time, I say involve the cops, and bust the guy.

Screw that! Let them use the same old scams... It just makes it easier to spot. :D

Last time I heard of this mode of scamming, a friend of mine had to have a nice chat with interpol. Not good at all. :irked:

it may be old, but i bet you someone still hasnt heard of it...
