Please review my overflow

It's been a while since I've built one of these. I know they are pretty straight forward but I would like another set of experienced eyes. Let me know if I need to change anything please. Also this is a dry fit, nothing is glued yet.

The intake will not be that high, I cut it at max length so I could adjust it accordingly.

Your intake pipe looks a little to long. Your purge pipe is not long enough. Depending on how strong your pump is, your water level will settle about 1 inch over intake pipe, maybe alot more if your pumps gph rating is high. Other than that, looks ok. If you haven't seen it yet, Uaru Joey has a great YouTube video about how to build one. I built one using his video, it worked great, loud though.

Thanks for the info. Ya I left my intake long as possible so I could cut it down as needed. I'll have to look into the purge pipe adjustment. Thank you!

Just about cut my thumb off with a miter saw. Cutting PVC elbows on a miter saw with a wood blade that only has like 15teeth is not a good idea.

I was serious but I said just about. the blade pulled the elbow in and shattered somehow my thumb hit the smooth part of the blade and it just slammed my hand into the back of the saw. Was a pretty nice scare.

Anyone think that the barb fitting protruding this far into the pipe will cause enough restriction to be of concern? If so I can back it out nearly even, install with some teflon tape and silicon.

Ok I glued and installed this thing after making the purge pipe longer but it seems to be sucking in a lot of air. I notice my aqualifter is pulling air almost all the time and you can see/hear when the overflow is full of just water and then sucks in air.
